- Aug.27 -- Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban talks about building his fortune, his aspirations for the Mavs, investing in big tech, and the opportunities for entrepreneurs amid the Covid-19 crisis. He appears on the latest episode of "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations." The interview was recorded Aug. 19.
I admire the financial independence of people, But you can live better if you work a little more. After watching this I think there are people out there, on the extreme, who plan to die early just to be able to retire early. To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. I plan to work until I'm at least 45
Nobody knows anything, you need to create your own process, manage risk and stick to the plan, through thick or thin while also continuously learning from mistakes and improving
@@MarcusFred-wn3iv Having an investment adviser is the best way to go about the market right now, especially for near-retirees, I've been in touch with a coach for a while now mostly cause I lack the depth knowledge and mental fortitude to deal with these recurring market conditions, I netted over $220K during this dip, that made it clear there's more to the market that we avg joes don't know

I couldn’t remember the interviewer’s name, so I just typed ‘Mark Cuban fix your tie’ and thankfully this popped up and I could re-begin where I left off.
This show is famous because if the host as much as it is for its guests.

This is why David Rubenstein is one of the best interviewers out there.
He's in too much of a rush, sometimes not letting his guest finish their thought process.

When he says..he ran covered call means...he was long Yahoo stock and then sold call option which earned option premium...now again he went for long puts...that is on internet index...it seems he was more short than what he needed to hedge his long positions....be careful while doing such strategies...investment banks will offer such strategies but only luck few will end up making money...I am sure...investment bank would have sold him this strategy saying that....short call premium income will cover the cost of long put.

I love David Rubenstein interviews but they just so eternally poorly edited. No follow up questions, no conversations, constant cuts to the next question. Just feels like you're watching half the interview.

This is Rubenstein style of interview. He wouldn't push the guest for argument sake. He will just ask and go with some humor in between
